This is the fifty-second issue of this newsletter. One year. Every week. I have not missed one.
The obvious explanation is discipline. But that is not true. This year of writing did not run on persistent force. It ran on the same thing I have been describing to you all along: The Frictionless Mindset. Stay tuned for that story in its own issue.
Today I want to mark the year a different way. With a confession.
Over the course of the past fifty-one issues I have told you what resistance is, how it decides where your energy is allowed to go, and what becomes possible when it is neutralized. I believe every word. I live every word.
But I have never handed you a number. No before and after. No results from anyone who is not me.
The productivity industry does not have this problem. It makes unsubstantiated claims freely. I would rather earn the claim.
The experiment
So year two opens with an experiment.
I am looking for readers to run the Go-To Technique, the one I reach for first when resistance shows up, every day for fourteen days. Not to prove me right. To find out what happens and to say so.
Here is what joining looks like. You reply to this email with the words “I am in” by Saturday night. On Sunday I will send you the complete instructions. Monday we start. It takes about 10-15 minutes a day. I check in with you on day three, day seven, and day fourteen, and at the end I ask you a few short questions about what you noticed.
Here is what you get. The technique itself, three weeks before anyone else sees it. A say in its final form, because wherever the instructions are not clear to you, I rewrite them. And your experience, anonymous unless you tell me otherwise, becomes part of the results issue every subscriber will read at the end of the month.
What this is not
I want to be plain about what this is not. It is not a study. There is no control group, and every report is self-reported. It will be a group of real people running a real technique for two weeks and telling the truth about what happened.
In a field that publishes almost no evidence at all, I will take honest and small over impressive and imaginary.
Monday
However many of us there are, we start Monday, August 10.
Reply “I am in” and I will save you a spot.
Cheers,
Alessandra
P.S. If the experiment is not for you, stay put. The results arrive in this newsletter at the end of the month, and year two is going to hold more things I can show rather than say.
